Our daughters
11th birthday cake. She wanted a Harry Potter theme. After
debating on an interior Hogwarts cake or a quidditch cake, we decided
on quidditch. We just didn't have enough time to complete a
Hogwarts cake correctly (so many things to make). Quidditch
turned out great but the towers really made it hard to see the
cake. Harry and Malfoy are flying above looking for the snitch.
The snitch is at the far end of the pitch. Fred and George are
hitting a bludger back and forth. Ron is keeper. The cake portion
is the ground of the field (terribly frosted, so hard to reach with all
of the rods) and inside each tower was rice krispy treats. I
designed and printed the towers to match the movie towers. The
characters were made from miniature zombie figures. We heated
them and tried to position them the best we could. My wife
painted them and made the brooms. We also created floating
candles for the dome of our game room to make it look like the great
hall. The whole party was great.
