Sydney's Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides Cake

I was able to talk Sydney into a Pirates of the Caribbean cake for her 9th birthday thinking I would get to make a cake based on the Disney ride. Not so much, she wanted the mermaid scene of On Stranger Tides instead. Ah oh well, it turned out great. The light tower is cake (12 boxes) with fondant and Queen Anne's Revenge is Rice Krispie treats (7 batches) with fondant. Way too much to eat. Hopefully you have seen the movie to appreciate the cake; I think we got the entire scene summed up rather well. We found the figures at the store and repurposed a few of them by cutting hair and clothes and repainting (group holding the net). There was even a great light in the tower shining on the small boat but got lost once we put the water on. All was good, party was fun and Syd had a great time with her friends.
